About TCG Bolt
A marketplace where trading card collections are sold whole, as one lot. Not a card shop.
The problem this exists for
Somebody with a real collection has two bad options. Sell it card by card, which is hundreds of listings, hundreds of envelopes and months of evenings. Or sell it to a shop for a wholesale offer that assumes the worst about everything unlisted.
The middle option — one buyer, one price, the whole thing — barely exists, because it needs two strangers to trust each other with several thousand dollars and a box of cardboard that is easy to misrepresent and easy to lose.
What we actually do about it
The money is locked. The buyer’s payment goes into the seller’s own account and freezes there — the seller cannot touch it while the collection ships and while the buyer checks it against the manifest. We never hold it ourselves; what we hold is the release. Neither side has to trust the other, because neither side is being asked to go first.
We read every listing before it appears. A moderator compares the manifest against the photographs. It is slower than letting anything go live, and it is the reason the manifest means something.
We decide disputes on evidence that existed beforehand — the manifest, the photographs, the tracking. Not on who argues better.
What we are not
We do not own, store, appraise or authenticate cards. The seller has them throughout and ships them directly. Stated market values are the seller’s own arithmetic and are labeled as theirs everywhere they appear — we do not price collections, and nothing on this site is a valuation or investment advice.
We also do not sell single cards, and will not. Cherry-picking is what leaves a seller with an unsellable remainder, and avoiding it is the entire premise.
How we make money
11% of the sale price, or $12.00 if that is more, from the seller, and a flat $2.99 marketplace service fee on each order from the buyer. There is no listing fee, no subscription, and no charge to be paid out. The business is those two numbers, which means we only earn when a collection actually sells. See fees and payouts.
Who runs it
TCG Bolt is operated by HaulX LLC, in Texas. It is small and deliberately so — the queue is read by a person, and the person answers at support@tcgbolt.com.
