Privacy Policy

What the DotSurvive app collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. DotSurvive is made by HaulX LLC. The game has no accounts or sign-up, and we never ask for your name, email address, phone number or payment details.
Summary
- Your progress (coins, upgrades, skins, settings) is stored on your device.
- We use Google Firebase for crash reports, anonymous gameplay statistics, remote game settings, and to connect players for the online Showdown mode.
- The game shows ads through Google AdMob. Ads are personalized only if you allow it.
- Leaderboards and achievements use Apple Game Center or Google Play Games.
- Purchases are handled entirely by Apple or Google.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Information stored on your device
Your coins, best times, skill upgrades, skins, Head Starts, statistics and settings are saved on your device only. We cannot see them. Deleting the game deletes this data. One-time purchases (such as Remove Ads) can be restored from the in-game Store; Head Starts are consumable and are not restored.
Information collected by services the game uses
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
If the game crashes or hits an error, a report is sent so we can fix it. It includes technical details such as the device model, operating system version, app version, the state of the game code when the problem happened, and a random installation identifier. It does not include your name or contact details.
Gameplay statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
The game records anonymous events to help us balance and improve it — for example a run starting or ending and how long it lasted, which game mode was played, power-ups collected, bosses and zones reached, events that occurred, settings changed, Store visits, and completed purchases (the product, never payment details). Google Analytics also collects standard technical data such as a random app-instance identifier, device type, operating system, app version, and approximate location (country or region, derived from your IP address). We have configured Analytics so this data is not used for advertising.
Remote settings (Firebase Remote Config)
The game downloads a few settings from Firebase, such as how often ads appear, so we can tune it without an update. This uses a random installation identifier.
Online play: Showdown (Firebase Authentication and Realtime Database)
When you use Showdown, the game signs in to Firebase anonymously, which creates a random user ID (no email or password). During matchmaking and matches the game stores:
- your display name: your Game Center or Google Play Games name if you are signed in, otherwise a generated name such as “Player 7Q2F”;
- your match: its shared seed, your dot’s position and status during play, attacks sent, and rematch requests;
- short-lived lobby entries (the Quick Match queue, room codes and invites).
Your opponent sees your display name and your dot during the match. Lobby entries are removed when you leave, and match data is deleted when the match ends. If a match is interrupted (for example the app is closed mid-match), it is deleted the next time a player from that match opens the game.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Unless you have bought Remove Ads or the Premium Bundle, the game shows ads from Google AdMob. To serve ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google may collect your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads.
- iPhone and iPad: the game asks for permission with Apple’s “Allow tracking” prompt. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, your advertising identifier is not shared and ads are not personalized with it. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device’s settings (Settings › Google › Ads, or Settings › Privacy › Ads).
- European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: the game asks for your consent before showing personalized ads, using Google’s consent tools. If you do not consent, you see non-personalized ads.
- United States: where state privacy laws apply, you can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising.
You can review or change your ad choices at any time with the Privacy Options button in the game’s Settings (shown where these laws apply). Rewarded ads (“Watch Ad to Continue”) are always your choice.
Leaderboards and achievements (Apple Game Center and Google Play Games)
If you are signed in to Game Center (iPhone and iPad) or Google Play Games (Android), your best times are submitted to leaderboards and your achievements are recorded there under your player name. Other players can see leaderboard entries. These services are provided by Apple and Google under their own privacy policies, and you can sign out of them in your device settings.
Purchases (Apple App Store and Google Play)
In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple or Google. We never receive your payment details. The game only receives confirmation of which product was bought so it can unlock it.
Why we use this information
- Running online Showdown matches: the anonymous user ID, display name and match data.
- Fixing crashes and bugs: crash reports.
- Improving and balancing the game: gameplay statistics and remote settings.
- Showing and measuring ads, which keep the game free: the advertising data described above.
- Leaderboards and achievements: scores and achievements, through Game Center or Play Games.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for personalized advertising, and on our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the game for crash reports, statistics and online play.
Who we share information with
Only the service providers named above, under their own policies:
- Google (Firebase and AdMob): Google Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from apps that use its services, and privacy and security in Firebase.
- Apple (App Store and Game Center): Apple Privacy Policy.
- Google Play and Google Play Games: Google Privacy Policy.
- Advertising partners that bid through AdMob, as listed in the consent message where it is shown.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it. We do not sell personal information for money.
How long information is kept
- On-device progress: until you delete the game.
- Showdown lobby and match data: removed when you leave the lobby or when the match ends; interrupted matches are removed the next time a player from them opens the game.
- Crash reports and gameplay statistics: kept for Google’s standard retention periods (Crashlytics, for example, keeps crash reports for 90 days).
- Advertising data: according to Google’s policies.
Your choices and rights
- Change your ad consent at any time with Privacy Options in the game’s Settings (where available), and control tracking and advertising IDs in your device settings.
- Stay out of online play: Showdown is optional, and nothing is sent to our online database unless you use it.
- Delete your on-device data by deleting the game.
- Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or US state laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your information. Because the game has no accounts, most of it cannot be linked to you; write to us and we will help with any request we can.
Children
DotSurvive is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Online-play data is protected by database rules that let players read and write only their own entries and the matches they are in.
International transfers
Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries, under the safeguards described in their own policies.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date below, and for significant changes we will say so in the game or in its store listing.
